Misc Notes
Establish math basics:
- the very basics
- addition
- subtraction
- multiplication
- division
- introduce variations in symbols and notations used to express multiplication and division
- expressions with multiplication and addition
- notations
- operator precidence
- fractions (and relationship to division)
- squares, cubes (as relates to multiplication)
- negative numbers
- equality and balancing around the equals sign. First without variables ie: 5+3=2x4 is the same as (5+3)+2=(2x4)+2
- variables, solve for single variables: 5+x=8; x=3
- multiple variables, sovle for single: 5+x=y; x=y-5
- square roots
- multiplying out expressions like (x+2)2
- completing the square: x2 + 6x=0; x2 + 6x +9 =0+9
